Where & What to recycle

These are suggestions to supplement to your local recycling program...

These are the stores/resources near me in Macon, GA.  What's actually available to you may vary.

Kroger:

Most grocery stores now have bins to recycling single use plastic shopping bags.
But you can recycle more than that!  You can typically recycle any plastic film (#2 & #4) whether or not they have the recycle symbol on them:

• Dry Cleaning bags
• Bread bags 
• the plastic wrap packaging on toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, etc
• produce bags
• newspaper bags
• plastic air pillows
• retail bags
• food storage bags
• plastic wrap around snack and water cases
• shower poofs (#4)

Publix:

Publix has the typical plastic bag recycling, but they have a separate bin for Styrofoam food trays and egg cartons (#6.)

Target:

You can recycle plastic bags, plastic bottles, glass, aluminum cans, ink cartridges, cell phones, and mp3 players.

Terracycle:

For recycling other things that are hard to recycle. You may want to go in with a group like  a community or folks at your office.  There are some free options, but most services have a cost.
